KNUST SHS Assistant Headmaster Removed Over Alleged Misconduct with Student

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, following allegations of misconduct.


In a statement issued on Monday, September 29, the GES said it had taken note of a viral video circulating on social media allegedly showing Mr. Aidoo in a compromising situation with a female student.


According to the Service, the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness. “In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students, Mr. Aidoo has been relieved of his duties and barred from accessing the school while investigations continue,” the statement read.

The management further assured parents, students, and the public that due process would be followed, with disciplinary measures applied in accordance with the GES code of conduct.


“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any act that undermines the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the statement added.
