The Ayawaso East Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has successfully organized the 1992 Constitution Quiz Competition for basic schools within the municipality. The event was held on Thursday, 25th September 2025, at the Library on the Kanda Highway and commenced at 9:00 am.
The competition brought together pupils from Civic Education Clubs across selected schools, providing an engaging platform to test and deepen their knowledge of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution. After an exciting contest, 31st DWM School emerged as winners, with Kanda International School taking the 1st Runner-Up position, Institute of Islamic Studies Basic School as 2nd Runner-Up, and Nima I Basic School placing 4th.
In her remarks, the Municipal Director of NCCE warmly welcomed participants, teachers, and invited guests. She explained that the NCCE is mandated to educate all Ghanaians on the principles and objectives of the 1992 Constitution. She highlighted the Commission’s flagship programs, such as Constitution and Citizenship Week and the Civic Education Club, under which the quiz was organized.
She stressed that the purpose of the Civic Education Club is to instill constitutional knowledge and civic values in pupils from an early age, fostering their growth into responsible and active citizens. She encouraged the students to continue upholding the 1992 Constitution as the supreme law of Ghana, adding that in such competitions there are no true winners or losers, as all participants benefit from the shared experience of learning.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Abbas Sulley, Public Relations Officer of NADMO in Ayawaso East, shared an inspiring message with the students. He recalled his own school days in the locality, noting how he rose from humble beginnings to his current role. He reminded the pupils that they too can achieve great things if they take advantage of opportunities before them. He encouraged them not to underestimate “little beginnings” or platforms such as the quiz, but rather to actively participate in such educational activities as stepping stones to greater achievements.
The event was well attended by pupils, teachers, and stakeholders, and was applauded as an exciting yet educational initiative that demonstrates a shared commitment to nurturing future leaders who understand and respect the Constitution of Ghana. @highlight Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly Ghana Education Service
