EOCO: Shatta Wale Fails to Prove Ownership of Lamborghini Urus

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has revealed that dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has not been able to provide credible proof of ownership of a Lamborghini Urus found in his possession.

In a statement issued on Thursday, August 21, EOCO said the musician claimed he bought the vehicle “from the Street,” possibly from an individual called “ZAK” who allegedly contacted him via WhatsApp. However, Shatta Wale admitted he neither knows the person’s real identity nor has any record of the WhatsApp contact.

EOCO noted that the artiste failed to produce standard documentation—such as a sales receipt or transfer papers—linking him to the car. The only document he presented was a customs declaration form bearing the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving a prison sentence in the United States for fraud.

The disclosure has triggered public reactions, with some fans gathering at EOCO’s offices to demand the artiste’s release.

Shatta Wale has since been granted bail of GH₵10 million with two sureties, pending the fulfillment of all legal conditions.

His media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, confirmed in a video update that the musician’s legal team is working to meet the bail requirements. He assured fans that efforts are underway to secure Shatta Wale’s release.
