The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has met with Ghanaian music icon Shatta Wale and his SHAXI team to formalize a groundbreaking partnership aimed at tackling youth unemployment.
Through this strategic collaboration, YEA will support the first 2,000 vehicles registered on the SHAXI ride-hailing platform by providing each with GHC 500 worth of fuel coupons monthly for a period of six months. This initiative is intended to reduce the operational costs for drivers and make the transport sector more accessible to young people across the country.
In an effort to further maximize job creation, SHAXI vehicles that operate around the clock will receive additional incentives. This 24-hour model ensures that each vehicle can employ at least two young individuals working in shifts, doubling the employment potential while increasing productivity.
This partnership represents a powerful example of public-private synergy, combining innovation, celebrity influence, and government support to deliver meaningful opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
