The Ministry of Communications has announced significant increases in data bundle allocations across all telecommunications networks in Ghana, effective July 1, 2025. The update was shared by Communications Minister Samuel George during a press briefing in Accra today, following successful negotiations with network operators.
“I am pleased to announce that my engagement with the CEOs has resulted in the following specific measures,” Minister George stated.
Key Data Bundle Increases:
AirtelTigo Ghana (AT Ghana):
10% increase on all data bundles
GH₵400 bundle upgraded from 195GB to 236GB
Telecel Ghana:
10% increase on all data bundles
GH₵400 bundle increased from 90GB to 250GB
MTN Ghana:
15% increase on all data bundles
GH₵399 bundle restored to offer 214GB (previously reduced to GH₵350 for 92.88GB)
Minister George acknowledged that these improvements come at a financial cost to the network providers but emphasized the importance of prioritizing the public’s interest.
“I am aware these increases will come at considerable cost to the network operators,” he said. “However, I am glad that our engagements and consultations are bearing fruit for the Ghanaian people.”
He also commended the telecom CEOs for their cooperation, describing the development as a sign of growing collaboration between the government and the communications sector.
The data bundle adjustments form part of ongoing efforts to improve digital accessibility and ensure better value for consumers in Ghana’s telecommunications market.
