Your Time Will Come – Asiedu Nketiah Urges NDC Members to Remain Patient on Appointments

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on party members who have not yet received government appointments to remain patient and continue supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

Speaking during his Thank You Tour in the Eastern Region, Mr. Nketiah explained that the number of qualified members far exceeds the available slots, making it impossible for everyone to be appointed at once. He, however, stressed that President Mahama has a four-year term and room for reshuffles, meaning more opportunities could open up in due time.

“It is better to be a floor member in government than in opposition. Those mocking you for not being appointed are only envious. Stay focused and wait for your time,” he told party faithful.

Encouragement to grassroots

Addressing branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former executives, cadres, assembly members, and identifiable groups in the Asuogyaman District, Mr. Nketiah commended the dedication and commitment that helped secure the NDC’s 2024 electoral victory. He recalled his campaign visits to key constituencies and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support that contributed to the party’s success.

He further assured members that additional job openings, including positions within the Police Service and other security agencies, would be made available soon and encouraged them to take advantage when recruitment is announced.

The Thank You Tour

Mr. Nketiah is on a three-day tour of the Eastern Region, visiting 16 constituencies to express appreciation to party members.

  • Day One: Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, Yilo Krobo, and Okere.

  • Day Two: Akuapem North, Akuapem South, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Upper West Akyem, and Lower West Akyem.

  • Day Three: Asene-Manso-Akroso, Achiase, Swedru, Akyem Oda, Kade, and Akwatia.

He also suggested that executives who wish to seek re-election in their current roles deserve another term, given their hard work and commitment to the party’s cause.
