‘Power Has an End’ – NPP Youth Organiser on Abronye’s Remand

The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has criticised the decision of the Accra Circuit Court to remand the party’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, into police custody.

Speaking to journalists outside the court on Tuesday, September 9, Mr. Mustapha declared: “Power has an end, the tables will turn, and we will all have our revenge.”

His comments followed the court’s ruling denying bail and ordering Abronye to remain in custody until Friday, September 12, when he is scheduled to reappear.

Abronye was arrested on Monday, September 8, 2025, and charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of the peace. He was arraigned the following day, where the presiding judge ruled for his remand.

The case has stirred significant political debate, particularly in light of Abronye’s recent asylum applications to eight foreign embassies, including those of the United States, Canada, France, Italy, and Germany, citing alleged threats to his life.
