Fifteen out of the 23 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Eastern Region have publicly endorsed former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign to become the party’s flagbearer.
The MPs declared their support during Dr. Bawumia’s two-day campaign tour of the region. Speaking on behalf of his colleagues on Wednesday, September 24, the MP for Achiase, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, said Dr. Bawumia had the proven competence and vision to lead the NPP to victory in the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Bawumia faces competition from other prominent figures in the NPP, including former General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong, and former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
