Kofi Akpaloo, leader and presidential candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has allegedly been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Citi News has learned.
Family members confirmed the development but said the reasons for his detention are still unknown. They revealed that Mr. Akpaloo was picked up from his residence in Kumasi, and his current location has not been disclosed.

EOCO has not yet released an official statement, leaving details of the arrest unclear.Mr. Akpaloo, who contested in the 2024 general elections, is a well-known figure in Ghana’s political arena.
Though his party remains relatively small, he has built a reputation for championing policies targeted at the youth, gradually raising the LPG’s profile in national politics.
