The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has pledged to improve electricity supply and customer service delivery in the Ashanti Region. The commitment was made at a Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) meeting held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Friday, August 29, 2025.
Chaired by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the meeting offered ECG an opportunity to outline its ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects designed to boost power reliability. The company also showcased new measures to strengthen customer engagement and satisfaction.

ECG was represented by four General Managers, the Regional Operations Manager, District Engineer, and Public Relations Officers. After the presentation, participants raised concerns which the ECG team addressed, while also promising to work more closely with presiding members and District Chief Executives (DCEs) across the region.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Ing. Peter Kofi Fletcher, General Manager of Ashanti Sub-Transmission, reaffirmed ECG’s mission:
“Our mission is clear—to provide reliable, efficient, and customer-focused electricity services to the people of the Ashanti Region. We value the feedback from our stakeholders and will continue to work closely with the RCC, MMDCES, and communities to ensure our projects bring lasting impact.”
