Bawumia Leads NPP Presidential Race With 52%, Ken Agyapong Trails at 17% – Poll

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the race to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, according to the latest survey by Global Info Analytics.

The poll, released on August 21, 2025, shows Dr. Bawumia enjoying 52% support among NPP delegates ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

His closest rival, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, trails at 17%, while other contenders posted single-digit support levels. Dr. Bryan Acheampong secured 3%, former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum had 1%, and Kwabena Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Addai Nimo each recorded less than 1%.

The survey also revealed that 10% of delegates remain undecided, with another 9% refusing to disclose their choice.

In total, the poll engaged 2,656 NPP delegates, of which 2,560 completed all responses. The interviews were conducted between August 12 and 20, 2025, across 263 out of 276 constituencies using computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI). The poll carries a 99% confidence level and a margin of error of ±2.44%.

Analysts say the data underscores Dr. Bawumia’s commanding lead but note that the undecided delegates could still play a pivotal role as the primaries draw closer.
