High Court Denies Nana Agradaa’s Bail Request Pending Appeal

The High Court in Amasaman has rejected a bail application filed by the legal team of Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, as she awaits the outcome of her appeal against a 15-year prison sentence.

Confirming the development on Tuesday, July 15, Dr. Bernard Kofi Asamoah, a member of Agradaa’s legal team, stated that the court dismissed their request for bail and instructed the Circuit Court to provide all relevant documents related to the appeal.

“We requested bail pending appeal, but the court did not grant it. The court has also ordered the Circuit Court to furnish it with all necessary processes regarding the appeal. We will continue to pursue the appeal,” Dr. Asamoah said.

This comes in the wake of Agradaa’s decision to challenge her conviction handed down on July 3, 2025. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Evelyn Asamoah, after being found guilty of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement.

Despite the setback, her legal team remains committed to overturning the conviction through the appellate process. Agradaa will remain in custody as the appeal proceedings continue.
