SML Condemns OSP Raid, Cites Threat to National Revenue Systems

Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) has sharply criticized a recent raid on its offices by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), calling the operation "unwarranted and unjustified." In a statement issued on Wednesday, the company warned that the incident could jeopardize a key national revenue assurance system it operates in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

According to SML, officers from the OSP, accompanied by personnel from National Security, conducted surprise raids on the company’s Osu and Tema offices without prior notice or the presentation of a warrant.

The company claims the operation led to the seizure of vital equipment, including servers, proprietary documents, gold analyzers, and other technical tools—some of which were still under development and essential to ongoing projects with the GRA.

SML also reported that four employees were briefly detained during the raid, while two others were allegedly assaulted.

The company expressed frustration over the development, stating that it has been cooperating fully with the OSP since March, having submitted all requested documents and maintained open communication.

“This raid, carried out without prior formal notice, undermines the cooperative relationship we have maintained with the OSP,” the statement concluded.
