Gospel musician Diana Asamoah has made a startling claim that her elder sister passed away after abandoning her prescribed diabetes medication in favor of a herbal drink, popularly known as ‘sobolo,’ promoted by religious leader Prophet Adom Kyei Duah.
In a viral video circulating online, Diana revealed that her sister had been managing diabetes for 17 years. However, her health took a drastic turn for the worse when she began drinking the prophet’s ‘blessed’ sobolo and discontinued her medication.
According to Diana, the drink — which Prophet Adom Kyei Duah sells to his congregation — is believed by many of his followers to possess healing powers. She strongly disputed this belief, warning of its potential consequences.
“My sister died on December 6. She had lived with diabetes for years, but things worsened after she stopped taking her medication and started consuming the so-called miracle sobolo,” Diana recounted. “Her husband, who lives abroad, would send her proper medicine, but she would throw them away and rely solely on the sobolo. That decision cost her life.”
Diana Asamoah emphasized that her criticism of Prophet Adom Kyei Duah has nothing to do with personal animosity. She clarified that her concern stems from what she describes as false teachings and misleading practices within his ministry.
“I don’t hate anyone. I haven’t started a church out of envy for your congregation size,” she stated. “If God has truly called you, then preach His Word. The Bible says everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved — not everyone who drinks sobolo.”
