A top Rwandan rapper, Jay Polly has been confirmed dead in a hospital in Kigali at the tender age of 33.
In a report shared by the BBC, the artiste was in jail awaiting trial on drug charges and was rushed to the hospital early on Thursday as he fell ill.
His brother, Maurice Uwera, said the Rwanda Correctional Service, which is in charge of prisons, informed him about the death without giving further details.
Meanwhile, the cause of death has not been revealed at the time of filing this report as officials are tight-lipped. His numerous have stormed social media to eulogize him while others play his songs unendingly to remember him.
