Beginning Thursday, November 13, 2025, Ghanaians will pay a reduced passport application fee of GH¢350, down from the previous GH¢500, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The adjustment, he said, is part of government’s broader efforts to lessen the financial burden on citizens and enhance access to essential public services. It also fulfills a longstanding pledge to review and make passport processing more affordable for the public.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Mr. Ablakwa explained that the reduction is intended to encourage more citizens to acquire valid travel documents through official channels while discouraging the use of middlemen and unauthorized agents.
The new GH¢350 fee applies to standard passport applications at all Passport Application Centres (PACs) across the country.
