NPP Schedules October 10 Balloting Ahead of 2026 Presidential Primary

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced Friday, October 10, 2025, as the date for balloting to determine the positions of aspirants on the ballot paper for the party’s January 31, 2026, presidential primary.

The exercise will be held at the NPP’s national headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, according to a statement signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee.

The statement invited all five vetted aspirants — Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ken Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong — to take part in the process.

“The Chairman of the Committee has directed me to extend an invitation for your participation in a balloting process to determine your positions on the ballot paper for the upcoming January 31st presidential primary,” the statement read.

The committee commended the aspirants for successfully completing the vetting process and urged them to uphold the party’s democratic values throughout the election process.

It also requested that each aspirant confirm receipt of the invitation and contact the committee for any further clarification or information.

The balloting marks a key step in the NPP’s roadmap toward selecting a flagbearer to lead the party into the 2026 general elections.
