NIA begins Ghana Card issuance for children aged 6–14 from October 6

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the commencement of Ghana Card issuance for children between the ages of 6 and 14, starting Monday, October 6, 2025.

The first phase of the exercise will take place in 56 districts across the country and will focus on children who have already completed their registration. The cards will be distributed at the same schools where the registration exercise was conducted.

In a statement, the NIA indicated that each child must be present in person and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to collect the card. Parents or guardians will also be required to present the registration receipt (Form A) issued during the registration process.

The Authority further assured the public that all previously unprinted Ghana Cards have been cleared and that the remaining districts will be included in subsequent phases of the exercise.

It added that new registration dates for children within the 6–14 age group will be announced soon.

The NIA has urged all parents and guardians to cooperate fully to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process nationwide.
