The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced plans to increase the monthly allowances paid to service personnel nationwide. Currently, personnel receive about GH¢715 per month.
Acting Director-General of the NSA, Ruth Dela Seddoh, revealed that discussions to finalise the new allowance rate are at an advanced stage. Speaking to journalists in Accra, Ms. Seddoh declined to disclose the specific percentage of the proposed increment but assured that the review would be substantial.
“This is something the President has shown keen interest in. However, considering the current economic circumstances, we are being cautious. What I can say is that we’ve had very positive engagements, and we are optimistic that personnel will see a meaningful increment soon,” she stated.
Meanwhile, the NSA has announced that online registration for the 2025/2026 service year will officially open on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

According to the Authority, this follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama after a Technical and Forensic Audit of the previous Central Service Management Platform (CSMP) revealed significant flaws in the system’s performance and security.
As a result, the NSA has been mandated to develop and deploy a more robust digital platform aimed at improving transparency, data security, and real-time verification.
In an accompanying statement, the Authority announced that all registrations completed in June 2025 have been declared null and void, citing data integrity issues such as age discrepancies and inconsistencies discovered during the earlier registration phase.
All prospective service personnel have therefore been instructed to re-register on the new platform within the stipulated period.
