Unidentified gunmen on Sunday, October 26, 2025, launched a deadly attack on a family residence in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region, killing three people and injuring two others, including a local radio presenter.
According to reports, five people were shot during the incident. Among the deceased was a five-year-old child, while the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
One of the survivors has been identified as George Bukari, the manager of Maxx Empire Radio and TV in Binduri.

Residents suspect that the shooting is linked to the protracted Bawku conflict, which has claimed numerous lives and displaced many families since its resurgence in November 2021.
In a related development, a mentally challenged man was allegedly shot dead by military personnel at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku — a development that has further escalated tension in the conflict-prone area.
Security authorities are yet to issue an official statement on both incidents.
