The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has disclosed that her ministry is working with law enforcement agencies to secure the arrest of the dismissed Assistant Headmaster of KNUST Senior High School over allegations involving a female student.
She made this known on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, during a working visit by Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to the ministry.
Updating the Vice President on recent interventions, Dr. Lartey stated:
“The most recent case is that of the female student at KNUST involving the assistant headmaster. Although the Ghana Education Service has dismissed him, we are collaborating with the police to ensure the arrest of the perpetrator.”

The accused, Charles Akwasi Aidoo, who served as Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST SHS, was dismissed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on September 29, 2025, after a viral video allegedly showed him in a compromising situation with a minor.
Dr. Lartey reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable groups, emphasizing that individuals who engage in abuse will face the full consequences of the law.
