A 65-year-old woman, Madam Abena Gladys, has reportedly been gruesomely murdered by her nephew in Breman-Benin, a community in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region. The suspect, identified as Kojo Sam, is alleged to have beheaded his aunt in what witnesses described as an unprovoked and shocking attack.
According to reports from the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the horrifying incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025. The suspect is said to have forced his way into Madam Gladys’s room, armed with a pestle, and struck her multiple times. He then allegedly dragged her outside, stabbed her repeatedly, and decapitated her.
Residents and relatives told reporters that the suspect had previously threatened to kill the victim during family disputes, but the matter was never reported to authorities as relatives chose to settle it privately.

After the brutal attack, Kojo Sam fled the scene but was arrested later that afternoon following swift police intelligence operations. He is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
The Breman-Benin community remains in a state of shock and grief, as residents struggle to comprehend the savage killing of Madam Abena Gladys.
