Former Adansi Asokwa MP, K.T. Hammond, has cautioned that Ghanaians will endure greater hardship if former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not elected President in the 2028 elections.
Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region on September 10, Mr. Hammond praised the former vice president’s competence and leadership qualities, stressing that he has what it takes to lead the nation effectively.
He strongly rejected criticisms against Dr. Bawumia based on religion, describing such arguments as unfounded and divisive.

“It is madness to say Bawumia cannot be President because he is a Muslim. Have you monitored his capabilities and hard work? We will suffer if Bawumia is not elected as President,” Mr. Hammond asserted.
He urged Ghanaians to prioritize competence and dedication over religious considerations in choosing the country’s next leader.
