Ghana Embassy to Roll Out Mobile Passport and Visa Services Across U.S. from October 2025

Ghanaians living in the United States will soon enjoy easier access to essential consular services without having to travel to Washington, D.C. Starting October 2025, the Embassy of Ghana will reintroduce its Mobile Consular Services initiative, bringing passport renewals, visa processing, and other services directly to local communities.

The announcement was made by Mr. Tsatsu Selormey, Deputy Head of Consular Affairs, during GhanaFest 2025 in Dallas, Texas. He explained that the renewed initiative forms part of the Embassy’s broader restructuring efforts to make consular services more accessible to Ghanaians across the country.

“Consular teams will be deployed to various cities to provide passport renewals, visa applications, and related support,” Mr. Selormey said, noting that the outreach is especially designed for those living far from Washington, D.C.

He cautioned against the use of intermediaries, urging the public to deal only with accredited consular officials to ensure transparent and efficient service delivery.

The announcement was made at GhanaFest, an annual event organised by the Council of Ghanaian Associations (COGA-DFW). The festival featured traditional music, dance, food, and local vendors, while bringing together chiefs, cultural groups, and members of the Ghanaian diaspora in celebration of their shared heritage.

Reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment, Mr. Selormey stated that the Mission remains “fully dedicated to serving both the Ghanaian community and the broader diaspora with the highest standards.” He further encouraged Ghanaians abroad to remain united, uphold their cultural identity, and support Ghana as a leading destination for tourism and investment.
