Bono Regional NPP Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been granted bail by the court in the sum of GH¢50,000 with one surety, to be executed without justification.
His lead counsel, Daniel Mantey Addo, revealed that Abronye’s health had deteriorated during his detention, and the court’s decision has brought him some relief. The legal team is working to meet the bail conditions to secure his release.
Abronye DC was arrested on September 8, 2025, on charges of “offensive conduct conducive to a breach of public peace.”

According to the police, the arrest stemmed from comments he made publicly, including allegations against the Inspector General of Police and the ruling political party, which authorities considered potentially inflammatory.
Prior to his arrest, Abronye submitted asylum requests to eight countries — Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, and Germany — citing political persecution, threats to his life, and the alleged misuse of state security powers by the current administration.
