New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, says he is confident the party will entrust him with its presidential ticket for the 2028 general elections.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, August 14, after receiving nomination forms picked on his behalf, the Education Minister expressed optimism about his chances.
“We are on track, and by the grace of God, my party, I believe, will vote for me and make me the flagbearer of the NPP,” he said.

Dr. Adutwum described the upcoming elections as the start of a transformative era, pledging to lead the country toward prosperity.
“After that, I will be on the journey to the promised land — the land our nation has yearned for over the years. We will wage war against poverty and win. Poverty and deprivation will be over,” he stated.
Vision for 2028
The minister outlined his campaign focus on building a stronger, more self-reliant Ghana, acknowledging the contributions of past leaders while stressing the need for further progress.
“From our first president to the current president, each has done something great. Yet, we have a lot to do. That is what Adutwum’s presidency will be about,” he noted.
Urging party members to rally behind his bid, Dr. Adutwum appealed:
“My party, give me the opportunity. Provide a bridge for me to cross to the other side. Once we get there, we will meet Ghanaians and show them that our future will be better than the present and the past.”
