Ghana Armed Forces Donates GHS315,000 to Families of Fallen Air Force Crew

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has donated GHS315,000 to the families of the three Air Force crew members who perished in the recent military aircraft crash. The donation was presented shortly after the state burial on August 15, 2025, where the nation paid its final respects to the fallen servicemen.

According to the Air Force, the funds were mobilised through contributions from well-wishers, corporate organisations, and individuals moved to support the bereaved families during this difficult period. Military officials noted that additional contributions are expected in the coming days.

Aside from the GAF donation, the families also received an undisclosed amount from the Presidency.

Delivering his condolences, Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General William Agyapong, reassured the families of government’s sustained commitment to their welfare.

“In addition to what we have given today at the national level, the government is planning a holistic package for all affected families,” he said.

Lt. General Agyapong further called for the establishment of a Child Care Support Fund to safeguard the future of dependents of fallen personnel.

“What becomes of our children if such tragedies strike? As an institution, we must begin thinking about a dedicated fund to cater for them whenever we are in harm’s way,” he stressed.
