UPSA Students Reportedly Sent Home Over 'Indecent Dressing'

Several students at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), were reportedly asked to leave campus on Wednesday, July 2, due to what authorities described as “indecent dressing.”

According to information gathered by kdsmultimedia.com, a task force enforcing the university’s dress code instructed the affected students to leave their classrooms and return home or to their hostels to change into what was deemed more appropriate attire before they could be allowed back on campus.

One student, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident, stating that many of them were turned away in the morning and told to only return after changing their clothes.

As of the time of this report, the UPSA administration had not issued an official statement on the matter. However, the move appears to reflect a renewed push by the university to strictly enforce its code of conduct and promote discipline, especially concerning students’ appearance on campus.

The development follows earlier warnings from the institution signaling a crackdown on what it considers inappropriate dressing.
