Azumah Resources in Confidential Talks with Engineers & Planners to Resolve Dispute

Azumah Resources Ghana Limited has confirmed it is currently engaged in confidential negotiations with Engineers & Planners (E&P) to resolve a commercial dispute, emphasizing that discussions are being held in good faith and within Ghana’s legal framework.

In a statement released on Sunday, July 13, the company’s Board of Directors described the ongoing dialogue as constructive and guided by relevant ministerial and regulatory bodies.

“Azumah Resources is currently engaged in confidential, good-faith negotiations with Engineers & Planners (E&P), with the shared objective of achieving a constructive and mutually acceptable resolution to the present impasse,” the statement read.

The update follows growing media interest and public speculation—particularly surrounding comments made by Ghanaian policy analyst Bright Simons. Azumah Resources was quick to distance itself from Simons, stating that he has no formal affiliation with the company.

“Mr. Bright Simons does not represent, act on behalf of, or speak for the Shareholders or Directors of Azumah Resources Ghana in any capacity,” the Board clarified, describing his comments as “personal opinions.”

The company also warned against the spread of misinformation, urging the media and public to avoid speculation that could undermine the integrity of the negotiation process. It encouraged stakeholders to rely solely on official sources for accurate updates.

In addition, Azumah Resources addressed recent references to the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) in public commentary. While acknowledging past discussions in Lomé in 2023 regarding potential financing, the company clarified that EBID’s interest was only indicative and subject to internal due diligence and board approval.

“Any extrapolations beyond this context are both inappropriate and unauthorized,” the company stated.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, professionalism, and the national interest, Azumah Resources assured that all actions taken are intended to protect the interests of stakeholders—including the Republic of Ghana.
