‘It was NDC era whereby many companies collapse’ – Wontumi on the mess NPP met

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Wontumi over the weekend explained in relatively improved English why his party has a superior economic record compared to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Opposition NDC elements have attempted to make a mockery of him over his inability to speak English, ignoring the substance of his inputs.
But the Ashanti Governor Wontumi, as he is affectionately called is not perturbed and is gradually picking up with less serious mistakes now than he used to make previously.

In an interview transcribed word for word by MyNewsGh.com from the National Delegates Conference of the NPP in Accra, Wontumi tried to explain to TV3 what has happened since the NPP came to power and how NDC caused the mess NPP inherited.

“When we lost the power 2008, that time 1 Ghana was 1 dollar. So immediately NDC came they started destroying the economy. So the Inflation and everything started going up. So from that time they destroy our economy to the core. The NDC destroy the economy to the core. Then it lead to one way to the other, from Dumsor, you know Dumsor? And then affected so many companies in Ashanti. It was NDC era whereby so many companies collapse, like BGL, Coca-Cola a lot of companies move from Ashanti you know.

The economic hardship started from NDC so they put Ghanaians to the awkward position whereby if you’re hairdresser you cannot go because you don’t have electricity, if you’re barber you cannot get electricity, is affect movie industry. What NPP has done now is to restore the electricity power…” the NPP Regional Chair said.
