OSP Revives Prosecutions with Fresh Wave of Corruption Cases

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced a renewed push against corruption, revealing that several cases are currently before the courts, with more prosecutions expected before the end of 2025.

In a Facebook post on Sunday evening, the anti-corruption agency said it was actively prosecuting a number of corruption and corruption-related offences on behalf of the public and hinted that “more cases will be filed in the last quarter of the year.”

The OSP also disclosed that seven individuals had been convicted earlier this year through plea bargains, which it described as evidence of steady progress in fulfilling its mandate to investigate and prosecute corruption.

The announcement coincides with the reopening of the courts after the annual legal vacation, marking the resumption of hearings in several high-profile corruption cases that have attracted national interest.

According to the OSP, the ongoing cases form part of its broader efforts to ensure accountability and integrity in both public and private institutions.

Among the notable cases currently before the courts are those involving former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, and nine others; former Public Procurement Authority (PPA) boss, Adjenim Boateng Adjei; and former Presidential Staffer, Charles Bissue, along with two others.

The OSP reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing justice without fear or favour, promising intensified investigations and prosecutions in the coming months.
