The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched its highly publicised “Yɛn Suro Ahunahuna” demonstration in Accra, drawing hundreds of supporters to protest what they describe as harassment and injustice against party members.
The march began at the Obra Spot near Kwame Nkrumah Circle and is heading towards the Ghana Police Service headquarters, where party leaders intend to present a petition to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
According to the NPP leadership, the protest seeks to highlight what they see as a deliberate campaign of intimidation, politically motivated arrests, and investigations targeting their members and sympathisers.

They accuse the police of being manipulated by the government to suppress opposition voices.
Security officers have been deployed along the route to maintain order as demonstrators move through key streets of the capital.
