A five-year-old girl who went missing in Atebubu, Bono East Region, has been found dead, three days after her disappearance.
The deceased, identified as Makimor Yagyeger, was discovered floating in stagnant water at Adom, a suburb of Atebubu. Eyewitnesses who spotted the body immediately alerted the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), which retrieved the remains.
Confirming the incident to Adom News, Atebubu GNFS Station Officer I, Kabori Sakari, cautioned residents to exercise greater vigilance, particularly around water bodies during the rainy season.

The tragic discovery has left the community in shock. While mourning the young girl, residents have urged authorities to launch a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, with some suspecting foul play and calling for justice.
The body has been handed over to the police for autopsy and further investigations.
