About 15 of My Cars Are in EOCO’s Custody – Chairman Wontumi

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has revealed that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has seized close to 15 of his vehicles.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Wontumi disclosed that the impounded cars include luxury brands such as a Bentley and a Rolls Royce. He clarified that the vehicles were legitimately acquired and had all necessary port duties paid.

“At the moment, EOCO has taken almost 15 of my cars, but I have decided not to speak. The vehicles are with EOCO. I bought them from Bright Selby at Asylum Down near the NPP office. He registered them, paid the duties, and did everything. My Bentley, Rolls Royce, and others are all there,” he explained.

Despite the incident, Wontumi said he has chosen to remain calm and is placing his trust in divine intervention. “I have kept quiet because I know that at the right time, God will intervene and speak for me,” he noted.

His comments come months after his arrest on May 27, 2025, when he was invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over alleged serious offences, including fraud, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering.

Reflecting on his arrest, Wontumi described the experience as both physical and spiritual, claiming he felt the presence of deceased relatives — a sign, he believed, that his life was nearing its end.
