The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced that the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
This follows the official announcement of her passing on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Mourners from across Ghana and abroad are expected to gather in Kumasi to honour the Queen Mother, who served the Ashanti Kingdom with distinction for eight years.

Palace officials have indicated that the ceremony will be conducted in accordance with traditional Asante customs. Chiefs, queen mothers, government representatives, and members of the public are expected to attend in mourning attire.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was celebrated for her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering dedication to safeguarding Ashanti heritage. Her death has been described as a “great loss” to both the Kingdom and the nation.
