Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has filed an appeal challenging the 15-year prison sentence handed down to her by the Accra Circuit Court on charges of fraud. The appeal was lodged today at the Amasaman High Court, seeking to overturn the Circuit Court’s ruling.
In the appeal, Agradaa’s legal team argues that the trial was legally flawed and that the judgment is not supported by the evidence presented during the proceedings.
Grounds for Appeal
Agradaa’s lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, contends that the trial was fundamentally unfair. According to the appeal, the trial judge displayed bias and denied Agradaa a fair hearing. The legal team also claims the sentence imposed was excessively harsh given the circumstances.

Details of the Conviction
The former fetish priestess turned evangelist was sentenced to 15 years in prison on two counts of defrauding by false pretence. The court ruled that the sentences would run concurrently. Additionally, Agradaa was fined GH¢300 for promoting charlatanic activities.
The conviction stems from a 2022 televised church service during which Agradaa claimed she was going to distribute GH¢300,000 to the needy. However, she allegedly collected money from attendees under false pretences and failed to deliver on her promise.
As the legal process continues, public attention remains focused on the controversial figure and the outcome of her appeal.
