Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially been sworn in as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
The swearing-in ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, and also saw the induction of Prof. Ransford Gyampo, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, as a member of the newly reconstituted GPHA Board.
These appointments are part of the government’s wider initiative to strengthen governance and provide strategic oversight at the GPHA. The new board is expected to guide policy direction, enhance operational efficiency, and support major infrastructure development projects within Ghana’s key port facilities.
As a critical institution in Ghana’s international trade ecosystem, the GPHA plays a pivotal role in facilitating maritime commerce. The newly appointed board leadership is anticipated to spearhead reforms aimed at improving service delivery, boosting revenue generation, and advancing Ghana’s ambition to become a top maritime hub in the West African sub-region.
