Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has taken disciplinary measures against four students for various offences.
One student has been dismissed from the school for stealing two laptops from the University’s Library on two separate occasions while three others have been suspended for various infractions.
This was a decision taken by the Disciplinary Committee of KNUST after several consultations and deliberations.
Below are the names of students and their offences
1, Mr Rexford Joseph Bonney
Offence: Involvement in the unauthorized installation of “Odikro” at Unity Hall
Punishment: Rusticatedfor two academic years i.e 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.
2, Mr Baffour Owusu Konadu
Offence: Gross Misconduct & bringing the name of the university into great disrepute
Punishment: Ru
sticated for one academic year, i.e 2021/2022
3, Mr Parick Dwamena Sekyere
Offence: Extortion of monies from students with the promise of securing them accommodation at GUSSS and SRC Hostels
Punishment: Suspended indefinitely
4, Mr Dwumah Ramsay Ohene-Tutu
Punishment: Stealing of two laptops from the Main University Library on two occasions.
What is Rustication: Rustication is the suspension of (a student) from a university as a punishment.
Odikro: Odikro means chief. So this student was involved in the installation of a chief at the Unity Hall
